Second grade artists learned about the life and artwork of Georgia O'Keeffe. We talked about how her flower paintings were almost abstract because they were created from a bug's perspective--meaning they were very close up to the viewer. We cropped our flower drawings so our flowers touched all sides of the paper. We outlined in glue, after the glue dried we added color and value with pastels. Our flowers were warm colors and our backgrounds were cool colors or visa versa.
