Kinder Kandinsky

After spending quite some time learning about lines in art, Kindergarteners have moved into shapes. We looked at the abstract paintings of Kandinsky as inspiration for our art. We used stencils to divide our paper into six squares. We then colored each square differently using paint dabblers. The next class we read "The Missing piece" by Silverstein and discussed shapes. We collaged concentric circles , beginning with a small circle about the size of a penny and gluing it to a larger piece of a paper and then cutting it out again. So each time it's glued and cut out, the circle shapes grows larger. We created six variations of circles.
